RECONCILED 11 JUN 2026

What moved this period.

Four upstream changes worth entering this period. Two need action if you run Meta CAPI or lean on Safari traffic: the dedup window narrowed, and another class of cookies got capped. Nothing else is structural, and two items carry forward to No. 02.

AFFECTS YOU IF — Meta CAPI · Safari-heavy traffic · Shopify custom pixels

01.1
GA4 — Data API quota enforcement tightened

Dashboards that poll the Data API too often now hit the token quota mid-month. Looker Studio tiles go blank and get blamed on GA4 breaking. Turning the refresh down and consolidating duplicate reports closed it.

01.2
Meta — CAPI dedup window narrowed

Server events that arrive late now fall outside the window, so they miss the event_id match against their browser twin. The same sale can count twice, quietly. Needs a re-test once a full week of post-change data lands.

F-102 ⚠ re-test
01.3
Safari — cookie lifetime cap extended to new cases

Another class of script-set cookies now expires inside 24 hours instead of seven days. Returning Safari visitors arrive without a cookie, so GA4 counts them as new and their attribution drifts toward direct. Watching match rate before deciding on a server-side move.

F-204 ⚠ re-test
01.4
Google Ads — Enhanced Conversions diagnostics changed

The diagnostics tab now flags low match-rate setups it used to pass silently. Nothing broke; the warning is just newly visible. No action beyond noting which accounts it lights up.

CARRIED FORWARD →

  • Meta CAPI dedup: re-test once a full week of post-change data is in.
  • Safari cookie cap: watch returning-visitor match rate into No. 02.
